Warm, winter baked porridge with apple and almond butter

Baked Porridge (also called Baked Oatmeal) is a healthy, sweet breakfast casserole that should not be missing from any brunch or family breakfast. For the sweet breakfast casserole, the porridge is mixed cold, topped with fruits and nuts and then baked.

This Christmas, Caro, co-founder of 3Bears, has created a baked porridge recipe with our limited edition Winter Magic variety. The Winter Magic porridge, gives the baked porridge a real warming and fruity taste. Dates, figs, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and star anise - the mixture of exotic fruits and highly aromatic spices smells and tastes wonderfully Christmassy. The baked porridge is perfect for a healthy breakfast or as a healthy dessert during the Christmas season. It's like 3Bears twist on the classic bread and butter dish. 

3Bears Baked Porridge Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 100 g 3Bears Porridge Winter Magic
  • 50 g dried cranberries
  • 350 ml oat drink
  • Maple syrup
  • 1 apple
  • 50 g almonds
  • White almond butter to drizzle

 

Preparation:

For the Christmas baked oatmeal, mix the 3Bears Winter Magic porridge with the dried cranberries and the oat drink. Let the porridge mixture swell for about 10 minutes.

Core and cut the apple into thin slices. Chop the almonds into large pieces.

Now fill the porridge mixture into a small baking dish and place the apples on top. Spread the almonds over the breakfast casserole before baking.

Bake the porridge for approx. 20 minutes at 200° C.

Caro's tip: when serving, drizzle  some white almond butter over the baked porridge for extra indulgence.
