Caroline and Tim Nichols, a German-English couple and the founders of 3Bears, met more than 10 years ago in England, the British home of Porridge. It was there that they rediscovered the English breakfast classic - Tim as an enthusiastic sportsman, Caroline as an absolute foodie and hobby cook.
They were infected by the Porridge renaissance that reigned in London, as many consumers were once again placing more value on a conscious diet and a full-fledged lifestyle. Caroline and Tim also love exactly that about porridge: the oat meal with the main ingredient oat flakes is low-sugar, low-fat and supplies complex carbohydrates, vegetable protein and fibre without being heavy in the stomach.
But the products from the supermarket were always full of sugar and other additives - so the two of them quickly started mixing their own varieties from wholegrain oat flakes and fruit. These own creations were so well received during visits to Caroline's Bavarian home that after months of extensive research they decided to found 3Bears in 2015.
Even today, more than 3 years after the foundation, the two founders develop all recipes and varieties themselves. Caroline is inspired by food trends from all over the world and often experiments for weeks on end. Our variety Tripple Berries was in the making for a year until it was just right, while Fine Chocolate was very fast. This is where the idea for a chocolaty porridge without added sugar Caroline got while jogging and directly a few days later the recipe was ready!
Tim critically evaluates every new creation by Caroline not only in terms of taste, but also in terms of nutritional value - who better than him as an avid marathon runner who grew up with porridge?
So 3Bears is not an industrial product, but the result of Caroline and Tim's passion for good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, which they want to share with you!
By the way: Caroline not only creates all 3Bears Porridge varieties, but also many great recipes beyond - get inspired here!
3Bears Porridge is so wholesome and delicious that even two lions have bitten. In 2017, our founders Caroline and Tim presented their history and products in the TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" and were able to inspire two investors at once.
Since autumn 2017, the full professionals Judith Williams and Frank Thelen have thus been standing alongside 3Bears with their respective teams.
Besides opera singing and her passion for teleshopping, entrepreneur Judith Williams is passionate about good nutrition and a balanced lifestyle. Of course, 3Bears fits perfectly into her portfolio and with a lot of passion 3Bears supports her. You can find more about Judith Williams on her website.
Entrepreneur and author Frank Thelen is enthusiastic about innovative start-ups and supports 3Bears and his team especially in the digital sector. E-commerce, social media and digitalisation are his topics! Find out more about Frank and his Team here.
Judith Williams enjoys eating our 6 porridge varieties every day and always takes our practical 50g Sachetswith her on her trips. Especially during her training for the TV show "Let's Dance" our 3Bears Porridge was a must on her menu. Each portion has less than 200 kcal (if prepared with water), but provides important complex carbohydrates, vegetable proteins and much more. Everything about porridge and what's good in it can be found here.
Judith Williams' verdict on 3Bears could not be clearer:
"Breakfast has never been so delicious. I know porridge from my second home England and love this breakfast. But I was particularly convinced by the two extremely strong founders Caroline and Tim Nichols. They will revolutionize breakfast in Germany with their start-up 3Bears."
And Frank Thelen does not spare superlatives either:
"Judith and I are a well-rehearsed team and we will also build 3Bears into one of the most successful breakfast suppliers. I love healthy and practical food. 3Bears fits perfectly into my food family."
