The grain swells just as well in water and sportsmen and women love to use it. However, your porridge will be creamier if you prepare it with milk.
If you want to eat a vegan or lactose-free diet, you can of course replace cow's milk with a variety of vegetable milk alternatives, such as almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk or oat milk, depending on your preference. 150ml water or milk (from cows, soya, nuts or oats)
