Would you like a change for breakfast or during your break? How about a wholesome snack?
Our porridge can be used not only to bake delicious cakes , but also this hearty oat bread. The recipe does not contain wheat flour, but rather spelled and wholemeal flour. A fully-fledged alternative if you don't want porridge in the morning.
On a Sunday morning the bread tastes particularly delicious fresh from the oven. Perfect for a picnic or breakfast in the garden!
Ingredients
60 minutes (including baking time) | 1 bread
- 100g 3Bears Porridge Crunchy classic (ground)
- 100g Crunchy classic
- 100g spelled flour
- 100g wholemeal flour
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 100ml buttermilk
- 150ml warm water
- 25g butter, cold in small pieces
Preparation
- Mix all dry ingredients together. Form a small well in the mixture - add the buttermilk, water and butter here. Knead everything in slowly.
- Knead the dough really well.
- Let the dough sit in a warm place for as long as possible to let it rise (2 to 3 hours is best).
- Pour the mixture into a baking pan (a box is best). Brush the dough with a little water and sprinkle some oat flakes over it for decoration.
- Bake the bread for about 30 to 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
