Mother's Day is just around the corner - the perfect opportunity to just say "thank you" to Mama Bear. Thank you for everything you do for us every day. Thank you for being just right. Flowers, jewellery or even chocolates – all undoubtedly nice ideas. But why not surprise mom with a brunch this year and give her something much more valuable, namely time together?
Our guest blogger has us for your Mother's Day brunch Bika put together a recipe for homemade rolls with delicious spreads.
Ingredients | Makes 10 oatmeal rolls
- 350ml lukewarm water
- 2 packets of dry yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp agave syrup
- 300g whole wheat flour
- 250g wheat flour (+ 50g for later)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 50g 3Bears Porridge A hearty classic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Preparation
Preparation time: 10 minutes | Walking time: 80 minutes | Baking time: 30 minutes
- Mix water, dry yeast and agave syrup in a bowl and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients and knead into a smooth dough.
- Let the kneaded dough rise in a bowl greased with oil for an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat). Then knead the dough again and if it is still too sticky add the remaining 50g wheat flour. Knead thoroughly again.
- Roll the dough into 10 small balls, place them on two baking sheets and sprinkle some 3Bears oat flakes over them.
- Let the dough balls rise for another 20 minutes and then bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
The rolls are ready! Bika recommends them with vegetable spreads, fried eggs, avocado or homemade jam.
